Important information - Bulk Uplift Services

The bulk uplift service provided by Glasgow City Council Cleansing Department which has been suspended since March 2020 due to COVID-19 will be resumed.

However, it is important to note that from early December onwards the council will operate a by-request-only service for bulk uplifts from residents in flats and main door properties.  This means that the council will not collect bulky waste from designated pick-up points.  You must Arrangement an uplift of bulk items by one of the following methods;

  • Via the MYGLASGOW app
  • Online at glasgow.gov.uk
  • By telephoning the customer care centre on 0141 287 9700

Residents can also continue, and are encouraged to dispose of their bulk items by taking them to their local recycling centre. If the items are in good condition you could donate them to a charity.

During the recent pandemic the Association has seen an increase in fly tipping throughout our areas and complaints from residents have increased regarding the environmental impact on the community.

The Association wishes to remind tenants/residents that the disposal of bulk is your responsibility and we would ask that you consider the environment and your community when you do this by disposing of bulk in the appropriate manner.

We would also like to highlight that the Association will not hesitate to recharge tenants/residents with any costs incurred for clearing bulk items which have been disposed of irresponsibly.
