Julie Smillie, the Director of Molendinar Park Housing Association since 2016 has been seconded to lead our neighbouring Association Reidvale Housing Association for an initial period of six months. During this time, Scott Rae, Depute Director will be stepping in as the interim Director, ensuring a smooth transition in the leadership role.

This move comes at a critical time for Reidvale HA as they have recently been successful in campaigning to retain the Association in community control. The Members voted against the move to transfer the housing stock to another Housing Association earlier in year.  Since then the new Management Committee at Reidvale HA has been working to stabilise their Association after a special general meeting in Match 2024 saw new committee members and a new Chairperson being put in place.  Pivitol to this is the role of Director and Julie Smillie’s exceptional track record as both a Director of Molendinar Park HA and as a Committee member of other Housing Associations puts her in an excellent place to meet all regulatory requirements and meet tenants’ aspirations at Reidvale Housing Association.

Scott Rae, who will be undertaking the role of interim Director, with full support of staff and management committee is well placed in leading Molendinar Park Housing Association during Julie’s time at Reidvale HA.

Scott Rae has worked within the housing sector with over 20 years. He joined the Association in October 2001 as a Maintenance Officer, progressing to Asset Manager and most recently as Depute Director.  It’s not the first time Scott has been acting Director, he filled in for Julie during a period of absence in 2020 and helped steer the Association through the Covid-19 crisis whilst maintaining consistently high levels of service delivery and financial stability.

The Management Committee and Staff wish Julie Smillie the best of luck in her new endeavour and extend our full support to Scott Rae as he takes on the interim leadership role.
