Bulk Uplift Services Update

The bulk uplift service provided by Glasgow City Council Cleansing Department has been suspended since March 2020 due to COVID-19.

The result of this is that we have seen an increase in fly tipping throughout our areas and complaints from residents have increased regarding the environmental impact on the community.

The Association has spent substantial amounts of money removing bulk items to try and address the problem however we cannot sustain this.  The bulk uplift service is provided by Glasgow City Council Cleansing Department which is paid for through council tax contributions.

While the service is suspended, we suggest that you dispose of your bulk in one of the following ways:

  • Privately e.g. Bulk Removal Contractor
  • Take it to your local recycling centre. More information on this can be found at https://www.glasgow.gov.uk/coronavirus under “Household Waste and Recycling Centres (HWRCs)”

If you would like more information on bulk uplifts or household waste & recycling please contact Glasgow City Council on 0141 287 2000 or visit their website on www.glasgow.gov.uk.

We would also suggest that you complain directly to Glasgow City Council Cleansing Department about the lack of service and consult your local councillor about these issues.  There is also an online petition that you may consider signing to record your dissatisfaction with the lack of service.
